Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart - Oct 18 & 19 2010

We, the executive of NENA, invite you to “come back to Hobart ” with us in October this year. For some, it will be the first time at this important forum for enrolled nurses and for others, it may well be a trip down memory lane.

Hobart August 15th 1995 was, and still is, considered by many to be the “birthplace” of NENA. It was here that so many nurses came together and agreed strongly that we should be the voice for our level of nurse.

It was there that we set ourselves the challenge of changing the way we were perceived. From those early days, we gained the respect of many in the wider nursing community who still continue to ask for, and value, the input from us.

For many of us that passion and commitment is still as strong and relevant today, which is why we would love to see you there. We feel that each of you has something important to add to our profession.

The 15years have provided so many opportunities to highlight the value of our level of nurse at a local level and at a national one. We have challenged traditions at times and we have achieved so many rewards, so you could say that NENA and the Enrolled nursing community have “moved mountains”.

We still have challenges to overcome and a very effective way to face those challenges, is by keeping the association between us all strong. The health arena is an ever evolving one & in co-operation with nursing leaders of Australia , we can effect change!!

So we wonder, how many of you will dust off the old satchels, reminisce about all those great friendships that were formed in Hobart and come and join us again. We also wonder how many of you will come and participate to keep the passion of NENA strong and ensure that in the future we will effect change.

Stay in touch through our website by submitting an expression of interest and keep checking back as the plans unfold for the event of this decade.
